Clinical Department of Radiotherapy
The Department of Radiotherapy of the Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz is one of the best in the country. We have not only high-quality, modern equipment, but also experienced medical staff specialized in radiation treatment. Our qualified and empathetic radiotherapists, technicians and medical physicists together form a “perfect team” – they are able to offer patients therapies used in the most developed countries around the world.
In the Radiotherapy Department there are 8 modern devices for irradiation, which enable us to offer our patients the most precise treatment techniques, including stereotaxic, gated and image-guided radiotherapy. In the smallest irradiated areas, the diameter of the tumour does not exceed even a few millimetres.
We specialize in the combination treatment of advanced tumours and disease relapses with the participation of full-profile chemotherapy (standard and targeted), brachytherapy, molecularly targeted therapies and surgery. The correlation of these techniques allows us to offer our patients the treatment most effective for them.
The Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz is the only centre in the region that uses state-of-the-art PET/CT and PET/MR diagnostic methods for radiotherapy planning. They are joined by a new 64-row computed tomograph dedicated only to treatment planning. This equipment allows us to offer precise radiation treatment to our patients.
Radiotherapy is performed on an outpatient and inpatient basis. Patients who require hospitalization are referred to the Radiotherapy Ward, where they undergo the entire therapy under the supervision of qualified specialists. From the moment the oncology package comes into effect, radiotherapy does not mean a month spent in a hospital bed. Now, patients undergoing radiation treatment receive free accommodation in multi-star hotels with full board.

- we prepare individual therapy plans based on genetic testing in cooperation with an American centre,
- at our patients’ disposal we have 8 accelerators, working 7 days a week,
- patients are admitted on a regular basis,
- persons who require hospitalization, are offered with round-the-clock, comprehensive specialist care,
- we are a centre dedicated to radiotherapy for children,
- for radiotherapy of the prostate gland we use gold markers – increasing precision of the treatment.

Przyjęcie do Oddziału
Izba Przyjęć znajduje się na niskim parterze w tylnej części Budynku Głównego. Z jej usług korzystają osoby skierowane do planowanej hospitalizacji oraz pacjenci leczeni w Centrum Onkologii, u których nastąpiło nagłe pogorszenie stanu zdrowia.
Pacjenci zgłaszający się do przyjęcia powinni mieć dowód osobisty lub inny dokument potwierdzający tożsamość.
Po rejestracji w Recepcji Izby Przyjęć chory udaje się do przebieralni, jeśli zachodzi taka potrzeba pielęgniarka/ sanitariusz pomaga choremu przy przebraniu się. Pacjent przekazuje okrycia wierzchnie rodzinie lub pozostawia je na przechowanie w depozycie szpitalnym. Na oddział docelowy chory udaje się sam lub jeśli zachodzi taka potrzeba jest zaprowadzony lub przewieziony przez sanitariusza Izby Przyjęć.
UWAGA!
Szpital nie ponosi odpowiedzialności za rzeczy pozostawione w szafkach przy łóżku chorego, dlatego też wszelkie wartościowe przedmioty (np. pieniądze, biżuteria, karty płatnicze) należy zostawić w domu lub przekazać do Depozytu Rzeczy Wartościsiowych mieszczącego się w Kasie Centrum Onkologii.
Co zabrać ze sobą do szpitala?
- leki oryginalnych opakowaniach + dokumentację medyczną + nagrania płyt z badaniami
- piżamę,
- ręcznik,
- kapcie, klapki pod prysznic,
- wygodne ubranie bawełniane np. dres,
- bieliznę osobistą,

- środki czystości (mydło, szampon, szczotkę i pastę do zębów, dezodorant)
